Natalie LeClair shines as a Spider

by

Natalie LeClair, who led the Essex High School girls soccer team to a pair of Division I state titles, is utilizing her blazing speed and scoring savvy at the University of Richmond.

The freshman from South Hero, Vt., is the Spiders’ second-most productive scorer this fall with four goals and two assists. Playing on a 7-5-1 Richmond team that is in fourth place in the Atlantic-10 Conference, LeClair was named the league’s player of the week on Aug. 24.

She was featured today on “Spider Spotlight,” a lighthearted Q & A that appears on Richmond’s Web site. She was asked, “What is your favorite part of the game?” Her answer: “Score goals.”

Metro Division coaches can testify to that response.

yes, Natalie LeClair has had some early success. Here’s a quiz question: Division 1, Girls, other than UVM, how many VT girls have played 4 years?
