Binghamton basketball player Emanuel “Tiki” Mayben was arrested Wednesday night and is being arraigned on felony drug charges, according to a Capital News 9 report.
The guard helped lead Binghamton to an America East Conference title and a trip to the NCAA tournament last season, averaging 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and a team-best 4.6 assists a game.
Just the latest in a long line of off-court issues that has engulfed Binghamton’s program in recent years. For a refresher course, here’s the New York Times’ expose on the Bearcats that was published in February. Perhaps UVM fans can take pride in this fact: I’ve been covering the Catamounts for four years and have yet to write a story about a player being arrested or suspended.
